Ishaan Khatter Tops IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities List, Calls the Achievement ‘Surreal and Humbling’

Ishaan Khatter has claimed the top spot on IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities list this week, following the release of the Netflix show The Perfect Couple. Reflecting on his accomplishment and the success of the show, Khatter expressed his gratitude, calling it a “surreal and humbling” experience.

The actor’s rise to the top of the list is attributed to the buzz surrounding his international role as Shooter Dival in The Perfect Couple. In a statement, Khatter shared his excitement about the recognition: “I’m honoured and grateful for the overwhelming support from fans and the recognition for The Perfect Couple. It’s always been my dream to be part of a project that connects with audiences across the globe, and so this moment is both surreal and humbling.”

IMDb’s Top Trending Indian Celebrities List

The IMDb list, which Khatter topped, ranks the most trending Indian celebrities based on global visits to the IMDb website. Following Khatter, actor Vijay, whose Tamil film The GOAT was recently released, secured the second position. Other notable names include the cast of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, who also made it to the list. Actress Patralekhaa Paul holds the fifth spot, director Anubhav Sinha is at 21st, Vijay Verma stands at 22nd, and Arvind Swamy ranks 31st.

The Perfect Couple, directed by Susanne Bier and developed by Jenna Lamia, is based on the 2018 novel by Elin Hilderbrand. The show, featuring an ensemble cast including Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, and Dakota Fanning, tells the story of a lavish wedding that takes a dark turn when a body washes ashore, making everyone at the wedding a suspect.
