Instagram Influencer Arrested For Strolling With 'Gun-Wielding Bodyguards'
Bengaluru police apprehended an Instagram influencer on Monday for an incident last month where he was seen accompanied by individuals posing as armed bodyguards outside a hotel in the city. Identified as Arun Kathare, aged 26 and residing in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, he hails from Chitradurga.
According to authorities, Kathare uploaded a video on Instagram featuring himself with men dressed as bodyguards carrying imitation AK-47 guns near a hotel in Chokkanahalli. The Kothanur police initiated legal action following the video’s circulation and have launched an investigation.
Police noted Kathare’s recurrent behavior of posting videos on his Instagram profile, showcasing counterfeit jewelry and posing with simulated firearms, cars, and motorcycles.
