A post that is prompting many to question the freedom of speech rapper Kanye West will have on Twitter, after it was announced Saturday that Elon Musk’s X acquired the platform: West, known as Ye, declared himself a ‘Nazi’ and praised Hitler, calling him ‘sooooo fresh’. He also called for the release of music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs from prison and made disparaging remarks about the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh.
After Elon Musk had, apparently, stopped following him, West penned the following on X: “Elon unfollowed me so I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be on X. If I’m taken off, go to Yeezy.com.” His X account was eventually suspended.
David Schwimmer Slams Kanye West
Criticism of the billionaire was delivered by actor David Schwimmer from the hit sitcom FRI. Sharing a screenshot of West’s post that read “I AM A NAZI” on Instagram. Schwimmer said, “This is so 2022. We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate-filled, ignorant bile. but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr Musk. Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people as the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.” He continued, “I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point.”

This isn’t West’s first controversial incident on X. In October 2022, his account was temporarily suspended for posting an image resembling a swastika inside a Star of David, a symbol linked to Hitler’s Nazi party. His account was reinstated in July 2023 after an eight-month ban.
Recently, West and his wife, Bianca Censori, garnered attention at the 2025 Grammys when Censori posed in a sheer mini dress.
