A new facet of chairman of Lokmat Media and former member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Darda is going to be unfolded in public. Through his ‘nazm’ ‘Teri Mahfil Se Uthkar…’, he has made his debut as a lyricist on the digital platform.
His ghazal has been sung by Jaipur Gharana’s world-famous ghazal and playback singers Ustad Ahmed Hussain and Ustad Mohammed Hussain.
The Hussain brothers have also composed music for the lyrics. The qawwali “Aaya Tere Dar Par Deewana…” sung by them in Hindi movie ‘Veer Zaara’ is still fresh in the minds of the music lovers.
Well-known music company Red Ribbon Entertainment has presented the ghazal on the digital platform. The company leads in production, distribution and marketing of multilingual film music, devotional songs, fusion, sufi, ghazal, classical and regional music.
The ‘nazm’ ‘Teri Mehfil Se Uthkar…’ has been released on seven digital platforms simultaneously. These digital platforms are YouTube, Wynk Music, Amazon Music, ITunes, JioSaaan, Apple Music and SoundCloud and it is getting a tremendous response from the music lovers.
Vijay Darda has informed that he had composed a few lines of this ‘nazm’ a few years ago and he had read out these lines to the eminent poet and lyricist ‘Neeraj’.
After hearing the lines, ‘Neeraj’ ji had read out to him few lines of the song ‘Main yeh sochkar uske dar se utha tha..’ which was composed by Kaifi Azmi for the film ‘Haqeeqat’, Darda said and added that he had composed the remaining lyrics of the ‘nazm’ during the lockdown period last year.
Inspired by the moments he spent in company of his wife Jyotsna Darda has given rise to this ‘nazm’ and it also reflects the pain of separation felt by him after her demise.
The Hussain brothers have made the ‘nazm’ lively through their melodious song and lilting quality of music.
Vijay Darda used to write poems, ghazals, ‘nazms’ etc, during his college days. Many of his poetic compositions can be accessed on the website of ‘Screenwriters Association’ — an organisation of lyricists who write for films, TV serials, audio albums among others.
