A shocking video is making the rounds over the last three days creating quite a stir in Goa. In the video, it is seen that near jail premises three rape accused are stripped of their clothes and asked to perform sit-ups completely naked.
The three naked men in the video are the rape accused in the case of the two minors at Benaulim beach last month. The fourth rape accused is not in the video because he reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. The incident of stripping the rape accused happened at the Aguada Central Jail in North Goa.
Inspector General of Prisons, Goa, Venancio Furtado said that it was a deplorable incident and a message needed to go out that such acts would not be tolerated. He said that an inquiry was ordered into the matter and it would also be seen whether such acts of ragging were common in the prison complex.
“If other prison inmates are found to be involved in this matter, action according to the prison rules will be taken”, he added.
