According to a report by the Times of India, the vehicle was operated by Jitendra Jangid, a resident of Divya Darshan Apartment in Mansarovar’s Journalist Colony. As he descended the elevated road, Jitendra noticed smoke emerging from the car’s air conditioning unit. Alarmed, he called his brother for guidance, who advised him to check under the bonnet. Upon exiting the vehicle and lifting the bonnet, Jitendra discovered that the engine was on fire.

The fire spread rapidly, damaging the car’s handbrake and causing the driverless vehicle to roll uncontrollably down the slope. It collided with a parked motorcycle before eventually coming to a halt after hitting a roadside divider. This incident underscores the potential hazards associated with vehicle malfunctions, especially in crowded areas.
A fire tender was dispatched from 22 Godam shortly after the emergency call was made. A police officer reported that by the time the fire was extinguished, the car was completely gutted, marking it as a total loss. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vehicle maintenance and the potential dangers posed by mechanical failures.
