“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much” as rightly stated by Helen Keller. Tagore International School Vasant Vihar too firmly agrees with this statement. On the 20th of April 2024, The Interact Club of Tagore Int. School Vasant Vihar along with its new organization Girl Up tisvv volunteered to donate sanitary napkins where kids from 9th-12th volunteered for this drive.

Members of Interact as well as Girl Up visited Bhavar Singh Camp to distribute the sanitary napkins half of which were collected by each member of the clubs from the school itself and around 600 pads donated from the Rotary Club district 3011 for the donation drive which was a courtesy of Dr. Akshat Prasad a fellow member of Rotaract. Students visited the camp not only to donate sanitary napkins but also to emphasize on menstrual hygiene and how using a rag during “that time of the month ” as we call it is very unhygienic. Students elaborated on the statement by including that if the rag is not cleaned properly, it can cause irritation and many other diseases like Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Members of both clubs participated enthusiastically having a proper discussion with all the women present there and not only girls but also boys of Tagore Int. school spread awareness about the problem of not using sanitary napkins. Over 150 sanitary napkins were donated to all the women who needed the sanitary napkins. Tagore Int. school believes that women are important and so is their menstrual hygiene.
