According to authorities, a headless and severely decomposed body of an unidentified man was discovered floating in a drain in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
“The body has been sent for a post-mortem. Efforts are on to identify the dead body. However, till now, no important clue has been found,” said Superintendent of Police City Meerut Piyush Singh.
The body was found in a drain behind the Agriculture University of Daurala police station area of Meerut, they said.
After receiving the information, the police arrived on the scene right away and sent out search teams to look for the missing head, according to an official. According to the police, they are also looking through the CCTV footage from the area to find the person who threw the body down the drain. The matter is currently the subject of more investigation.
