Tragedy struck in Chandauli as four individuals, including three labourers, tragically lost their lives due to inhaling toxic gas while cleaning a septic tank. Local reports indicate that all three labourers, one after another, fell unconscious upon entering the tank, followed by the landlord’s son who attempted to rescue them.

Despite efforts, all four were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Viraj Pandey, confirmed the incident and announced that the District Administration would provide Rs 4 lakh ex gratia to each of the deceased.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and swiftly directed officials to expedite relief measures. The authorities arrived at the scene promptly and arranged for the bodies to undergo post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
