In a heartbreaking incident near Toronto, Canada, four Indians lost their lives when their Tesla crashed into a divider shortly after midnight. Following the collision, the vehicle reportedly caught fire, as reported by India Today.

The victims have been identified as 30-year-old Keta Gohil and 26-year-old Nil Gohil, siblings from Godhra, Gujarat, along with two others. It remains unclear whether one of the deceased was driving the car or if it was operating in self-driving mode.

Among the victims was also a man who had recently obtained Canadian citizenship. Fortunately, a woman in her twenties was rescued from the burning vehicle by a passing motorist. She was subsequently taken to a hospital but fortunately did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Multiple vehicles stopped at the scene to assist the victims, with bystanders attempting to break the car windows to facilitate the rescue. Toronto Fire Deputy Chief Jim Jessop noted that extinguishing electric vehicle fires requires a significant amount of water.

Earlier this year, in July, a similar tragedy struck when three Indian students from Punjab were killed in a road accident in Canada.
