Russia reportedly informed Iran of an impending Israeli attack that resulted in the deaths of two Iranian soldiers. Israel executed precision strikes on military targets in Iran, claiming these actions were a response to “months of continuous attacks” from the Iranian regime.

According to Sky News Arabia, Russian intelligence was shared with Tehran just hours before the second wave of Israeli strikes, which followed Iran’s earlier attack on October 1. Iran confirmed that military sites in Tehran province and surrounding areas were targeted, attributing the explosions heard to its air defense system intercepting the assault.

The recent Israeli actions have sparked condemnation from Iran’s allies, including Lebanon and Hamas, who assert Iran’s right to retaliate. In response, Israel has warned Tehran of severe consequences should it choose to strike back.

The Iranian army confirmed that two soldiers were killed during the Israeli air strikes on military installations in Tehran. A statement from state media described the fatalities as occurring while the soldiers defended their territory from “projectiles launched by the criminal Zionist regime.”

While Israel stated its retaliatory strikes targeted missile manufacturing facilities and installations across several regions, Iran has emphasized its obligation to defend itself against these attacks.

Despite downplaying the recent incidents, there is a growing sense of anxiety in Iran regarding potential escalations. Local residents recall the devastating impacts of previous strikes, heightening fears of being drawn into broader regional conflicts. Hooman, a 42-year-old factory worker, described hearing the blasts as “terrible and horrifying,” expressing concern over the possibility of war in the Middle East.
