Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has issued threats against Hindu temples, including Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. In a video released by the banned group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Pannun warned of planned attacks on November 16 and 17. Allegedly recorded in Brampton, Canada, the video seeks to incite violence towards Hindu places of worship.
Pannun’s message includes a direct threat to Ayodhya, declaring, “We will shake the foundations of Ayodhya, birthplace of the violent Hindutva ideology,” a statement targeting one of India’s most revered sites. The video displays images of Prime Minister Modi praying at the Ram Temple during its inauguration in January. Pannun also advised Indians in Canada to avoid areas with potential Khalistani violence against Hindu temples.
Previously, Pannun had warned travelers about Air India flights scheduled between November 1 and 19, linking this timeframe to the 40th anniversary of the 1984 “Sikh genocide.”
Pannun’s statements also call for attacks on Indian diplomats, broadening his campaign to incite unrest among Indian communities. SFJ, under Pannun’s leadership, has been involved in various anti-India campaigns advocating for a separate Sikh state, issuing provocative statements intended to disrupt communal harmony.
Designated as a terrorist under India’s Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in July 2020, Pannun faces multiple arrest warrants but continues operations from North America. In recent years, there has been a rise in vandalism and threats against Hindu temples and communities in Canada from Khalistani groups, including hate graffiti and public intimidation.
Last week, pro-Khalistani activists clashed with worshippers at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, disrupting an event hosted by the temple and the Indian Consulate. Despite India’s repeated calls for action, Canadian authorities have been criticized for their perceived inaction, straining India-Canada relations amid concerns over pro-Khalistani activities.
