Katy Perry has finally reached her dream of traveling to space. On Monday, she embarked with Blue Origin’s first all-female crew to travel past the Earth’s atmosphere, a feat not realized in more than 60 years.
A viral video on X since that time captures a tearful Perry kissing a bouquet of flowers and the ground when she returns home. Blue Origin CEO personally greeted the crew back, to the cheers of an eager crowd for their triumphant mission.
Before embarking on her flight, Perry left a beautiful note on X reading, “I LOVE YOU.”

Lauren Sanchez’s Experience
Lauren Sanchez, the first one to exit the capsule, hugged her fiancé Jeff Bezos when she landed. Describing her experience during the live telecast, she said, “Earth was. it was quiet. It was just so quiet,” she stated. “I don’t think you can put into words. It was quiet, but really, really alive. We’re all in this together. That’s all I could think about. We’re all so connected.” She also described her sheer elation, adding jokingly, “I had to come back” since she’s marrying Bezos.

Gayle King and Oprah Share Emotional Moments
Another crew member, Gayle King, also kissed the ground in a poignant gesture upon exiting the spacecraft. Oprah Winfrey, who was at the launch site, later shared a video of King and the NS-31 crew walking to the launchpad. She was visibly upset as King seemed to brush away tears.

The NS-31 mission also had on board filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, researcher and Nobel Prize candidate Amanda Nguyen, and rocket scientist-turned-former-Astronaut Aisha Bowe. Every one of them had a personal experience to offer during this history-making space venture.
