Kash Patel, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the FBI, today defended his record and tackled criticism over his qualifications to lead at a contentious confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Kash Patel, the nominee to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the US, started his statement with a humble greeting to “Jai Shri Krishna” and thanks to his parents who flew all the way from India for the hearing.
“I like to welcome my father and my mother Anjana who are sitting here today. They travelled to get here from India. My sister is also here. She also travelled the oceans just to be with me here today. It means the world that you guys are here. Jai Shri Krishna,” he said.

Although the exchange was hostile, Patel didn’t give an inch in his answers. He went ahead to establish his credentials to fill the position while silencing the need for criticism. His confirmation process would likely remain hotly debated as lawmakers weigh whether he will be fit for the nation’s greatest law enforcement agencies.
