Elon Musk’s Gaming Feat: Ranks in World’s Top 20 ‘Diablo 4’ Players After Countless Hours

Elon Musk, known as the world’s richest person, tech CEO, and even a “MAGA mouthpiece” by some, recently added another title to his list of accomplishments—a top-ranked gamer. Musk shared on the Joe Rogan Podcast, just before the US presidential election, that he ranks among the world’s top 20 players in the video game Diablo 4, a noteworthy achievement considering the game has a player base of over 6 million.

Musk’s Surprising Gaming Achievement

During his appearance on the podcast, Musk casually mentioned his Diablo 4 ranking, surprising many who were initially skeptical. However, online investigations confirmed his claim; Musk indeed holds the 19th spot globally, according to a leaderboard check. Notably, Forbes highlighted that Musk is one of only two Americans within the game’s top 20 players.

Social Media Buzz

News of Musk’s high ranking stirred conversation across social media. Given the time commitment required to excel in Diablo 4, many questioned how Musk balances his roles as CEO of several companies and father to 11 children with long hours of gaming. One user on X, Musk’s own platform, pointed out the demands of reaching such a level, stating, “Elon Musk, who has 11 kids, has played so many hours of Diablo 4 in the last month that he’s the 19th-ranked player in the world…would require dozens or hundreds of hours of grinding.”

Skeptics speculated whether Musk might have hired someone to play on his behalf. “There’s a real chance he paid someone to grind his character up,” one user suggested, while others floated similar theories, claiming Musk’s schedule might not leave enough room for extensive gaming.

About Diablo 4

Released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2023, Diablo 4 is the latest installment in the popular action RPG series. Set in the dark fantasy world of Sanctuary, players face the forces of evil led by the demon Lilith, known as the Daughter of Hatred. To succeed, players must gather increasingly powerful equipment and conquer tougher enemies.

The game features five unique character classes—Barbarian, Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, and Necromancer—each with distinct abilities. Unlike previous entries in the series, Diablo 4 introduces an open-world environment, allowing players to freely explore five diverse regions.

Elon Musk’s impressive Diablo 4 ranking has fueled both admiration and curiosity, showing that even a billionaire CEO can make time for his favorite games.
