A recent video depicting a bus driving against the flow of traffic on Bengaluru’s NICE Road has caused a significant uproar online, with internet users voicing considerable concern. The video, which has garnered more than 240,000 views, shows the bus making its way from the Electronic City toll to the Bannerghatta toll and trying to access Bannerghatta Road by driving in the opposite direction.
The incident occurred at the important Bannerghatta junction and the Electronic City toll, a crucial route within Bengaluru’s transportation network. Numerous viewers demanded stringent punishment for both the driver and the bus owner. One commenter remarked, “This occurs because there is no strict enforcement of the law. People believe they can merely bribe the police. ” Another user stated, “That warrants the cancellation of their Driving License. ” A worried individual noted, “Should be penalized heavily. ”

One commenter emphasized the driver’s duty by stating, “Both, the driver and the owner, must be held accountable. A bus driver has a greater responsibility than car drivers due to the number of lives reliant on him. Their license should be revoked immediately. ”
Additionally, another user mentioned Deputy CM D K Shivkumar, commenting, “This constitutes mass murder! The license should be revoked, the bus confiscated, and the driver apprehended! @DKShivakumar must take the most stringent action to avert another disaster! ”
This is not the first occurrence. Another incident involved a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus that was found driving the wrong way on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, thus endangering the lives of passengers and other motorists. A school bus driver was also penalized for incorrect maneuvering on the same expressway, illustrating the alarming trend of traffic rule violations in the region.
