Mango CEO Toni Ruiz expressed deep sorrow over Andic’s sudden demise. Reflecting on his contributions, Ruiz stated, “He dedicated his life to Mango, leaving an indelible mark thanks to his strategic vision, his inspiring leadership and his unwavering commitment to values that he himself imbued in our company.”

Moreover, Ruiz highlighted Andic’s human qualities, describing him as approachable and compassionate. “His legacy reflects the achievements of a business project marked by success, and also by his human quality, his proximity and the care and affection that he always had and at all times conveyed to the entire organization,” he added.

Details of the Tragic Accident

According to Catalonia’s regional police, Andic fell over 320 feet into a ravine near the Collbato caves, a popular tourist destination near Barcelona. Police received an alert on Saturday afternoon, and shortly after, confirmed Andic as the victim. Rescue teams successfully retrieved his body from the ravine.

Andic, Mango’s non-executive Chairman, built a remarkable legacy in the fashion industry. According to Forbes, he had an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion. In 1984, he founded Mango in Barcelona and transformed it into one of Europe’s most prominent fashion brands.

Notably, Mango now operates in over 120 markets worldwide. The company reported over $3.2 billion in sales in 2023. Additionally, it currently runs 40 stores in the U.S. and plans to open 20 more next year.
