Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh convened a crucial joint meeting today for the election core groups of seven Lok Sabha constituencies of West Bengal scheduled to go to polls in Phase-5 on May 20.
Upon his arrival in Kolkata this morning, Dr. Jitendra Singh wasted no time in engaging with the election teams of the seven constituencies slated for Phase-5, including Howrah, Uluberia, Serampore, Hooghly, Arambagh, Bangaon, and Barrackpore.
Given the impromptu nature of the meeting and the need to avoid disrupting the grassroots work, the initial session was conducted virtually from Kolkata instead of in-person interactions.

After a comprehensive discussion spanning over two hours, Dr. Jitendra Singh outlined plans to commence a series of constituency-wise meetings starting tomorrow. These meetings will delve into specific issues relevant to each constituency with the aim of ensuring victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) across all seven seats.
In the previous election, out of West Bengal’s total 42 Lok Sabha seats, BJP secured 18, while Trinamool Congress (TMC) clinched 22 and Congress bagged 2. Among the constituencies up for grabs in Phase-5, BJP had emerged victorious in three – Hooghly, Barrackpore, and Bangaon.

Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed optimism about BJP’s prospects this time, citing strategic changes and the introduction of new candidates in some constituencies. Despite obstacles posed by the Mamata Banerjee-led government’s alleged hindrance of Modi government schemes, Dr. Singh noted a growing inclination among voters towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare agenda.

The BJP High Command has orchestrated a targeted approach for all 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal, deploying senior leaders to oversee various segments and phases of the election process.
