Following the ‘Surya Tilak’ ceremony of Lord Ram in Ayodhya Ram Temple, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday extended his wishes to the countrymen on the occasion of Ram Navami.

“Best wishes to all the countrymen on the occasion of Ram Navami,” Shah told ANI.
Meanwhile, amid his busy election schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took out time between his rallies in Assam and watched the ‘Surya Tilak’ ritual of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya Temple on the occasion of Ram Navami.

Prime Minister Modi took to social media to share images from inside his aircraft, where he was seen watching a recording on his handheld device capturing the poignant moment of the Sun’s rays illuminating the forehead of Ram Lalla. In the photos, the Prime Minister was depicted without his shoes.

Expressing his sentiments, PM Modi remarked that, like millions of Indians, this experience was deeply moving for him. He shared, “Following my rally in Nalbari, I observed the Surya Tilak ceremony on Ram Lalla. This moment holds profound emotional significance for me and countless others. The grand Ram Navami celebrations in Ayodhya mark a historic occasion. May the radiance of this Surya Tilak imbue our lives with vigor and inspire our nation to achieve greater heights of success.” PM Modi’s message was posted on X platform.

At noon today, the Ram Temple in Ayodhya witnessed a remarkable event as the forehead of the Ram Lalla idol was adorned with a beam of sunlight, known as ‘Surya Tilak,’ in celebration of Ram Navami. This unique ritual was made possible through an intricate system involving mirrors and lenses within the temple premises. The temple trust had engaged a team of scientists to orchestrate this extraordinary occurrence. Employing their scientific knowledge, the experts directed a focused beam of sunlight onto the deity’s forehead. The precise alignment of mirrors and lenses ensured the illumination of Ram Lalla’s forehead with the sun’s rays. This awe-inspiring spectacle unfolded precisely at 12 noon and lasted for about three minutes, marking a momentous occasion at the sacred Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The ‘Surya Tilak’ moment filled devotees with immense joy and devotion, resonating with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ echoing throughout Ayodhya and temples nationwide. Outside the Ram Janambhoomi Mandir, devotees spontaneously engaged in song and dance, expressing their reverence for the occasion. This Ram Navami holds particular significance as it marks the first celebration since PM Modi conducted the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Lord Ram idol on January 22 in Ayodhya.

The temple gates opened for darshan as early as 3:30 am, welcoming devotees to witness the auspicious event. To ensure widespread participation, the celebrations were broadcasted on approximately 100 LED screens across the city and also streamed live on the trust’s social media platforms.
