Snatcher gang involved in multiple incidents arrested in Panchkula

Snatcher gang involved in multiple incidents arrested in Panchkula

Under the leadership of ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj, Crime Branch Sector 19 Inspector Yogvindra Singh and his team exposed the gang involved in snatching incidents in the district and arrested 3 accused. The arrested accused were identified as Ashish, a resident of Dhakauli Jeerkupar; Shubham Kumar, a resident of Sector 25 Panchkula; and Amit Kumar, a resident of Hisar Hall Sector 25 Panchkula.

Providing information, ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj said that at around 7 pm on November 24, 2023, two persons riding a motorcycle had snatched the gold chain worn by the victim, Neeta Vasi, a resident of Sector 15, Panchkula, in the market and fled. A case was registered at Sector 14 police station based on the complaint of the victim, Pawan Kumar, a resident of Sector 26, Panchkula.

In the second incident, on November 7, 2023, when the victim, Mulreja, a woman from Sector 21, Panchkula, was returning home in the evening, two unknown persons snatched a gold chain weighing about 20 grams from her neck from behind and fled. A case was registered at Police Station Sector 05 Panchkula based on the complaint.

In the third incident, on November 19, 2023, the victim, Promila Vaidya, a resident of Sector 11, Panchkula, was returning home from the park in the evening when two boys on a motorcycle snatched the gold chain from her neck from behind and fled. A case was registered at Sector 05 police station based on the victim’s complaint.

In the fourth incident, on December 6, 2023, in the evening, a gold chain was snatched from the neck of Sheela Malik, a resident of Sector 25, by a woman. A case was registered at Chandimandir police station based on Sheela Malik’s complaint.

In the fifth incident, on April 2, 2023, Anupama Seth, a resident of Sector 20, was returning home from a walk in the evening when two persons on a motorcycle snatched the gold chain from her neck from behind and fled. A case was registered at Police Station Sector 20 based on the complaint.

In the sixth incident, on June 12, 2023, in the afternoon, Payal Asija, a resident of Sector 20, was going home on a scooter when two persons on a motorcycle snatched the gold chain from her neck from behind and fled. A case was registered at Sector 20 police station based on Payal Asija’s complaint.

ACP Crime Arvind Kamboj said that snatching incidents had occurred at different places in the city. The incidents were investigated by Crime Branch Sector 19 Panchkula. Under the leadership of Crime Branch Sector 19 Inspector Yogvindra, action was taken by obtaining photos and videos of the accused who committed snatching incidents with the help of CCTV, etc.

3 accused were arrested, produced in court, and taken on police remand for 4 days. Six incidents were revealed from the accused. The gold chains snatched in the crimes will be recovered from the accused, and they will be interrogated. Further accused involved in the cases will be arrested. Additionally, inquiries will be made about other snatch cases.
