The Himachal Pradesh police have expressed concerns about the possible connection of the accused involved in the attack on a liquor businessman in Una with gangsters. In an incident in Ghaluwal, Una, unknown individuals attacked a liquor trader. The police have arrested two individuals in connection with the case, and there are suspicions of their links with gangsters operating in Punjab and other states.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) Arjit Sen Thakur led a team that conducted raids at different locations, apprehending six individuals involved in the incident. Items seized from them include firearms, bullets, a motorcycle, six mobile phones, SIM cards, and three vehicles. In a press conference, SP Una Arjit Sen Thakur disclosed that the assailant, Mani Rana, already had five cases registered against him, including one under section 302.
According to the victim, Mani Rana had demanded money over the phone, but the victim refused to comply. Subsequently, when the victim was heading home by car, unknown bikers started firing at him. Upon checking Mani Rana’s record, the police found that he had already in Central Jail Ludhiana, Punjab, for the past 11 years.
Investigations revealed that Mani Rana had orchestrated the attack as part of a plan. The surprising aspect is that the individuals involved, including those engaged in reconnaissance, procuring pistols, firing the weapon, providing bullets, and transporting shooters to the crime scene, did not know each other. The police believe it was a meticulously planned crime. The apprehended individuals are being investigated for potential connections with gangsters in Punjab and other states.
Despite Mani Rana being in jail, the police will conduct a thorough investigation into the entire incident. The police have arrested a total of six individuals in connection with the case and will present two of them in court.
