The National Testing Agency’s UGC-NET June 2024 examination, held on Tuesday, has been canceled following integrity concerns. The Ministry of Education made this decision after the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre flagged potential compromises in the exam’s security.

The examination, which was conducted in OMR (pen and paper) mode across various cities in two shifts, faced scrutiny on June 19, 2024, when the University Grants Commission received alerts from cybersecurity authorities regarding possible breaches. To ensure transparency and uphold the exam’s integrity, the Ministry of Education decided to cancel the current examination and schedule a new one. Details about the rescheduled exam will be announced separately.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to maintaining the sanctity of examinations and protecting students’ interests, stating, “Any individual or organization found to be involved in this matter will face the strictest action.”

In a related development concerning the NEET (UG) 2024 Examination, the government addressed the issue of grace marks and responded to allegations of irregularities in Patna. A detailed report from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police has been requested, and further actions will be taken based on the findings of this report.

This decisive move by the Ministry underscores its dedication to fair and secure examination processes, ensuring that all candidates are evaluated under uncompromised conditions.
