Amidst the ongoing Basantgarh encounter entering its third day, the Jammu Kashmir police have detained six suspects. In an intensified effort to apprehend terrorists, who have sought refuge in the Dudu Basangarh forests, security forces continue their relentless search operation in Udhampur.
Utilizing advanced technology, security forces have deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle to track down the terrorists, who are believed to be concealed within the dense vegetation.
Accompanied by senior officers from the CRPF and Indian Army, ADGP Jammu Anand Jain has arrived at the scene to personally oversee and monitor the search operation.
The primary focus of the operation remains on tracing two groups of terrorists, totaling six to seven individuals, as confirmed by the Jammu & Kashmir Police.
DIG Udhampur-Reasi range, Rayees Mohd Bhat, affirmed that security forces have bolstered their intelligence efforts and continue the search operation for terrorists. “The operation is ongoing. Our search teams are combing through deep jungles, supported by drone surveillance. Tracking of the newly infiltrated group is in progress, and our intelligence network has been fortified,” he stated.
Additionally, fresh searches have been launched by the security forces in the Bani forest area of Kathua district, following suspected movement of terrorists being spotted, indicating an expanded effort to root out terrorist elements from the region.
