Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, met with Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Indonesian Minister of Tourism, to enhance tourism cooperation between the two nations. The meeting focused on increasing mutual tourism flows and fostering joint efforts to create new opportunities in tourism and travel.

Bin Touq highlighted the historical and strategic partnership between the UAE and Indonesia, emphasizing progress in various sectors. The UAE operates over 174 monthly flights connecting the two countries, showcasing their robust aviation collaboration.

UAE Tourism Strategy 2031 at the Core

The UAE’s efforts to boost the tourism sector are guided by the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031, which aims to:

• Cement the UAE’s position as a top global tourism destination.
• Increase the sector’s contribution to the national GDP to AED 450 billion.
• Attract AED 100 billion in investments.
• Welcome 40 million hotel guests annually.

Exploring New Opportunities

The ministers discussed:

• MICE Tourism: Enhancing cooperation in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions.
• Private Sector Engagement: Encouraging dialogue between tourism companies.
• Joint Marketing Campaigns: Promoting top tourist destinations in both nations.

Additionally, the meeting explored new training and recreational initiatives to stimulate tourism flows.

Invitation to Investopia 2025

Bin Touq invited the Indonesian Minister to attend the fourth edition of Investopia, scheduled for February 2025. This event will provide a platform to explore the UAE’s investment opportunities and expand partnerships across economic sectors.
