In a check bounce case, the district court has sentenced a young man to two years in prison. Along with this, the convicted individual, identified as Rajinder Singh from Daffarpur village in the Dera Bassi tehsil, has been ordered to repay complainant Deen Nath, a resident of Sector-4, within two months, with a penalty of 14 lakh rupees, which is one and a half times the check amount. The accused was identified as Rajinder Singh, residing in Daffarpur village, Dera Bassi tehsil. The complainant alleged that the accused had entered into an agreement to save his wife’s land.
He had sent four lakh rupees to the complainant’s account through RTGS on January 8, 2018, for the agreement. Later, on May 28, 2018, he sent ten lakh rupees to the complainant’s account. The complainant accused the defendant, who conducts property business under the name of Raj Property Consultants, of not transferring the property in his wife’s name. To recover the money, the defendant gave the complainant a check from Axis Bank, Daffarpur Branch, on August 10, 2018. Additionally, on August 30, 2018, he gave a check for four lakh rupees. When the complainant deposited the checks in the bank, they bounced due to a mismatched signature and insufficient funds.
