Discussions are set to take place between the Central Government and the State Government Committee regarding the Jat community’s demand for reservation in central services for Bharatpur and Dholpur.

The talks are scheduled for February 12, according to a letter sent by Jagjit Singh Moga, Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, to the District Collector. Meanwhile, the Bharatpur-Dholpur Jat Reservation Struggle Committee continued its protest near Jai Choli for the 24th consecutive day.

Convenor Nem Singh Faujdar led a delegation in a meeting with members at the office of the National Commission for Backward Classes in New Delhi.

The meeting concluded with the decision to include members of the state government’s committee, such as Minister of State Public Health Engineering Department Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary, Minister of Urban Development and Self-Government Department Jhabar Singh Kharra, Deeg-Kumher MLA Dr Shailesh Singh, and Nadbai MLA Jagat Singh. Additional Chief Secretary of Social Justice and Empowerment Department Kuldeep Ranka and Deputy Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Department Surendra Gajraj will also be part of the committee.

The upcoming meeting, scheduled for 5 pm on February 12, will be chaired by Dr Virendra Kumar, Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, along with Cabinet Minister Avinash Gehlot and Chairman of the National Backward Classes Commission Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.
