A horrific accident on National Highway-21 in Rajasthan’s Dausa claimed the lives of two devotees, one from Madhya Pradesh and the other from Uttar Pradesh, and left 11 others severely injured. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. as a trailer truck collided with the mini-bus carrying devotees. The mini-bus had come to a stop on the roadside within the jurisdiction of Mehandipur Balaji police station.
According to police officials, the driver of the mini-bus had halted to drop off passengers when the trailer truck crashed into the rear of the bus. The force of the impact caused the bus to overturn by the roadside, resulting in the tragic loss of life.
Witnesses at the scene recounted the horrifying moments when the bus came to a halt and was suddenly struck by the trailer truck. The driver of the trailer truck fled the scene immediately after the collision. Passengers onboard the bus screamed for help, drawing the attention of nearby residents. Residents rushed to the accident site and initiated rescue efforts, bravely working to free individuals who were trapped under the overturned bus.
A total of eleven passengers, including women and children, sustained severe injuries in the accident. They were swiftly transported to Sikarai Hospital, with some of the more critically injured individuals subsequently being referred to Dausa District Hospital. Eight of these critically injured victims were further referred to Jaipur for specialized care, while three others continued to receive treatment at the district hospital.
Among the casualties were Mamta Vanshkar (24), wife of Harendra Vanshkar, hailing from Khera in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Pawan Sharma (27), son of Rajesh Sharma, residing in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Pawan Sharma succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Sikrai Hospital. The accident also left Harendra Vanshkar (23), Mamta Vanshkar’s husband, as well as their children, Hakim Vanshkar, Radhika (5), and Bhupendra (3), among those injured in the devastating collision.
The driver-conductor of the mini-bus fled the scene immediately following the accident, and efforts to locate and apprehend the individual are currently underway.
