A big change happened in Odisha when Mohan Charan Majhi became the Chief Minister, leading the first BJP government there. The special swearing-in ceremony took place at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneshwar, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending.

Alongside Majhi, two new deputy Chief Ministers, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, promised to work hard for the state. The event marked the beginning of a new era in Odisha’s politics, with Governor Raghubar Das overseeing the proceedings.

Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who served for 24 years, watched as the leadership changed hands. Many top leaders like Union Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Nitin Gadkari, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were among the dignitaries , highlighting the importance of the event nationally. As people gathered at Janata Maidan, they eagerly awaited Majhi’s arrival, showing their excitement with cheers. Majhi, in his speech, promised that protecting Odisha’s ‘Asmita’ (pride) will be the priority of the new government.

Mohan Charan Majhi, from Keonjhar district, comes from the Santali tribe, representing Odisha’s diverse culture. His journey from being a village leader from 1997-2000 to becoming Chief Minister shows his dedication to serving his people.

The BJP’s victory in the Odisha elections, securing 78 seats out of 147, reflects people’s trust in their vision for the state’s future. With Majhi leading, Odisha looks forward to progress and inclusivity. Under Majhi’s leadership, Odisha aims for growth and empowerment, ensuring every citizen’s aspirations are met. This marks a significant moment in Odisha’s history, signaling a promising future for the state.
