To commemorate International Museum Day 2024, Tripura Governor Indresena Reddy Nallu visited the historic Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala. This royal residence, located in the capital and covering one square kilometer, was constructed by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya between 1899 and 1901.
The event was attended by the Director and Secretary of the museum department, along with several museum officials and staff members. Governor Reddy’s visit underscored the importance of preserving cultural heritage and raising public awareness about museums.
During his visit, Governor Reddy praised the museum’s efforts in preserving and displaying the state’s cultural artifacts. In his speech, he highlighted the educational role of museums and their contribution to a deeper understanding of history and culture. He commended the museum’s initiatives in organizing educational programs and exhibitions that engage the community and attract visitors nationwide.
