A young woman from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has made news by publicly thrashing a PWD sub-engineer who attempted to molest her in the name of giving her a job. The incident that took place on Sunday hit the headlines after a video of the whole scene appeared on Monday.

The accused, according to reports, has been identified as Ram Swaroop Kushwaha, resident of Datia and working as a sub-engineer at Dabra. Itwas reported that he called a woman to a rest house on the pretext of an employment opportunity.

The video recording shows that the woman, while accusing Kushwaha of harassment and deceit, was seen beating him with her slipper inside and outside the rest house when he had enraged her saying, You have troubled me a lot.” Though Kushwaha tried to run away, she did not stop the thrashing before he escaped.

Police involvement and subsequent action

Dabra SDOP Vivek Sharma said that no complaint has been filed yet formally. He added that if the victim files a complaint, stringent action will be taken against the accused.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Kushwaha had been introduced to the woman by an acquaintance, who allegedly promised her a job. After the altercation, the police reached the site but found the woman unwilling to lodge an official complaint. Kushwaha, later questioned by the police, claimed that two individuals accompanied the woman during the confrontation. He declined to provide further details, citing poor health.

The authorities have declared that they would take legal actions as demanded if the woman decided to file a formal complaint.
