One common problem travelers face is finding affordable and decent accommodation. However, a travel content creator from the Netherlands, known as @traveltomtom, may have found the cheapest hotel room. While traveling through Peshawar, Pakistan, Tom secured a hotel room for just 117 Indian Rupees, or 400 Pakistani Rupees, which equates to only a dollar and a half for him.

Tom, a seasoned traveler who has visited 159 countries, recently traveled to Peshawar, Pakistan. During his visit, he discovered an incredibly cheap hotel room and shared a video of it on his Instagram account.

The video begins with Tom showing the room before cutting to him asking the hotel owner, who is seated beside the road with a register on a plastic table. Tom inquires about the price of the room, and the owner replies, “400.” When asked about accommodation for more people, the owner explains, “For one person, it’s 400; for two people, it’s 800.”

As he climbed up to the room, Tom was initially unsure about what to expect. However, he was amazed by what he found—a room priced at just one dollar. The room featured two beds, a TV, a fan, and a large window at the front.

The video, shared a couple of months ago, has garnered over 800,000 views and 16,000 likes. In the caption, Tom wrote, “Is this the cheapest hotel in Pakistan? Maybe even in the world? Just 400 PKR for a bed—only $1.40 USD!”
