In a devastating incident in the Pogal area of Ramban district, Jammu & Kashmir, four individuals lost their lives while three others sustained injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a deep gorge.

The unfortunate event occurred when the vehicle, en route from Maligam to Ukhrall, skidded off the road near Maligam, reportedly due to slippery conditions in the area.
The victims have been identified as Ab Waheed and Mohd Ayoub, both residents of Nowgam Pogal, along with Anayatullah Runyal from Panla Maligam. The driver, Naveed Ahmed from Chafkani Maligam, tragically lost his life at the scene of the accident.

The injured individuals have been promptly shifted to PHC Ukhrall for medical treatment.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident as the community mourns the loss of lives in this tragic accident.

Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, expressed his condolences and announced an ex-gratia payment for the families devastated by a tragic accident in the Ukhral area of Ramban district earlier today.

“I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of precious lives in an unfortunate road accident in Ramban today. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved families and praying for the speedy recovery of those injured,” said the Lt Governor.

The accident, which occurred earlier in the day, has left several families shattered, prompting immediate action from the administration. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s announcement of ex-gratia aims to provide support and assistance to the affected families during this difficult time.

The administration is closely monitoring the situation and extending all necessary support to the victims and their families. Authorities are also focusing on measures to enhance road safety and prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
