In a tragic incident, two Indian students were discovered dead in their Connecticut accommodation in the United States, leaving their families in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in shock and seeking answers. The deceased students were identified as G Dinesh (22) from Wanaparthy, Telangana, and Nikesh (21) from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.
Dinesh’s family, currently clueless about the cause of his death and that of his roommate Nikesh, received the distressing news from friends living in a nearby room. Dinesh had embarked on his journey to Hartford, Connecticut, for higher studies on December 28, 2023, while Nikesh joined him a few days later. The two students, having mutual friends, became roommates in the United States.
Expressing their grief, Dinesh’s family members revealed their efforts to seek assistance from Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to facilitate the repatriation of Dinesh’s body. Wanaparthy MLA Megha Reddy also extended support to the family and assured them of assistance.
While the family of Dinesh is in contact with authorities for repatriation, there is a lack of information about Nikesh’s family. Srikakulam Police Special Branch DSP K Balaraju noted that even the district collectorate had not received information on Nikesh or his family members.
Wanaparthy MLA T Megha Reddy expressed condolences to Dinesh’s family and contacted Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to arrange for the repatriation of the student’s body. The Chief Minister positively responded, assuring that arrangements would be made to bring back the deceased student to his native place.
As the families grapple with the sudden loss of their loved ones, the mystery surrounding the cause of death adds to their distress, with efforts being made to gather more information about the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
