The Supreme Court Collegium bench headed by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, had recommended the names of five Judicial Officers for appointment as the Judges of Kerala High Court. The Supreme Court Collegium in its resolution dates 10.10.2023 that the Kerala High Court Chief Justice, had recommended the elevation of the five judicial officers, in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues, and that the Chief Minister and the Governor of the State had also concurred with the said recommendation.
Justice Johnson John, Justice Gopinathan U Girish, and Justice C. Pratheep kumar took oath as Additional Judges of the High Court during the swearing-in ceremony conducted at 10:15 A.M. However, these include M B Snehalatha; Johnson John; G Girish; C. Pratheep kumar; and P. Krishna Kumar. Therefore, the Centre only cleared the appointment of three of the five judicial officers. The three judicial officers swore in as Additional Judges of the Kerala High Court on October 25, 2023.
