Authorities in Maharashtra have apprehended three individuals accused of orchestrating a burglary in Palghar district, where jewelry and cash valued at approximately Rs 7.5 lakh were stolen from a residence. The culprits were intercepted while attempting to flee on a long-distance train, according to a senior police official.

Senior Inspector Raju Mane of the Manickpur police station disclosed that the burglary occurred on March 7 in Vasai, while the occupants were away from their home. Upon their return, the family reported the loss of ornaments and cash totaling Rs 7.52 lakh. Promptly, the police initiated an investigation, filing a First Information Report (FIR) and commencing inquiries.

Utilizing CCTV footage and employing intelligence and technical resources, law enforcement identified the three individuals responsible for the crime. Subsequently, they were apprehended aboard the Gorakhpur Express train in Nashik on Wednesday.

The official confirmed the recovery of all stolen jewelry and cash from the suspects, identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Chakki Ramraj Yadav (33), Mohammad Sayeed alias Shannu Garibulla Khan (37), and Lalkesar alias Baccha Dadan Rai (27). While Yadav and Khan hail from Mumbai, Rai resides in the Fadarwadi area of Vasai. Additionally, the trio has a history of involvement in various cases registered with the Goregaon police in Mumbai, the official added.
