In a proactive move to ensure a comfortable journey and enhance services for genuine rail users, the Ferozepur Railway Division conducted an extensive ticket-checking campaign throughout February.

During this period, the ticket-checking team diligently scrutinized passengers on trains, resulting in the identification of 25,928 individuals either traveling without tickets or in an irregular manner. Consequently, fines amounting to a staggering Rs. 2.56 crore were collected from these offenders. Remarkably, this revenue exceeded the target set by the division’s ticket-checking staff by three percent. The head office had assigned the Ferozepur division a revenue target of Rs. 2.50 crores for ticket checking in February.
In addition to ticket checks onboard trains, regular inspections are also conducted at main stations within the division to uphold cleanliness standards and deter littering.
Notably, 569 passengers were fined a total of over Rs. 81,000 for littering within station premises during February.

Expressing appreciation for the concerted efforts and dedication of the ticket-checking staff, Divisional Rail Manager Sanjay Sahu emphasized the critical role of ticket checking in bolstering railway ticket sales and fostering compliance among passengers. Sahu affirmed the continuation of the ticket-checking campaign in the Ferozepur Division to ensure equitable and secure travel experiences for all passengers.
