On Monday, a Home Committee meeting took place in the Assembly, chaired by Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani. Speaker Devnani highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance security and improve amenities at MLA residences, emphasizing the establishment of guidelines from a security standpoint. Essential facilities are being organized within the campus premises.
Devnani said that SBI Bank’s ATM, Saras Parlor by Jaipur Dairy, Allopathy Hospital by the Medical and Health Department and Departmental Store by the Cooperative Consumer Association will start operating in the premises soon. He said that in view of the facilities for the MLA and his family, decisions have been taken in the meeting to quickly make all the necessary arrangements. He said that a gym and swimming pool are also being operated in the MLA residence complex. In these, separate time has been fixed for women. A guest house will be operated for the guests of MLAs.
Devnani stated that out of the MLA residences, 137 houses have been allotted to the MLAs. Out of these, 112 MLAs have also taken possession of the allotted residence. Presently 25 MLAs will soon take possession of the allotted residence. He said that the Home Committee has set guidelines regarding houses.
Block wise management committee will be formed to implement the guidelines for the flats. Along with the MLA residing in the block, the concerned officers of the Assembly Secretariat will also be included in the management committee. Cleaning arrangements in the common area of the campus and police verification of helpers will be done by the committee. The rules set by the Municipal Corporation will be applicable for licensing of pets and keeping them. Smoking, publication of advertisements, entry on terraces and organizing functions in open common areas are prohibited in the premises.
From security point of view, visitors coming to the MLA residence complex will have to bring their identity card along with them and it has also been made mandatory to make entry in the register kept at the door. Visitors will be allowed entry only after receiving instructions on intercom from the person residing in the concerned flat. Devnani said that in view of the security arrangements of the MLAs, no negligence will be done in the residence complex.
Devnani said that special care has been taken for the security of the MLAs in the 160 six-storey flats built. More than 80 high range CCTV cameras have been installed in the common areas (parking, driveway, basement) in the campus. Smart parking facility has been provided in the double basement of the complex. For the visitors, each block has been provided with reception, waiting lounge, administrative meeting hall, multi purpose hall, conference hall, driver dormitory room, lift and service lift. In the meeting of the Home Committee, Chairman Pushpendra Singh, members Kesaram Chaudhary, Phoolsingh Meena, Sandeep Sharma, Shobha Chauhan, Jitendra Kumar Gothwal, Anil Kumar Sharma, Brijendra Singh Ola, Rajkumar Rot, Chandrabhan Singh Chauhan along with Principal Secretary of the Assembly Mahavir Prasad Sharma and Deputy Secretary Raghuveer Singh was also present.
