To sustain life, nourishment is indispensable. Without food, even an inanimate machine cannot function. The human body, akin to a living machine, requires regular nourishment, endowed by the divine with countless virtues on Earth. Even before entering this world, the divine organizes nourishment for every living being. In the embrace of its mother’s lap, nutritious milk production begins. For nearly 5 months, the infant is nurtured through breastfeeding. It should also be given water at regular intervals.

The glory of the divine is boundless. As soon as a child is born, the yoga of life begins. Upon entering this world, the child begins to cry vigorously, facilitating the circulation of vital air in its lungs. If a child doesn’t cry, nurses or doctors stimulate it by gently tapping its back while holding its legs up and head down. The forceful tapping induces crying, and with it, the child is brought into a normal state. The circulation of air in the lungs begins. Within a few days, the child starts moving its hands and legs. It enjoys cycling, a skill taught to elders. Along with crying, it also learns to laugh. Once it learns to sit, it starts clapping. It plays by clapping. Now attention should be paid to the child’s diet. As it grows, its stomach cannot be filled with its mother’s milk alone. Growing children should be given light, nutritious food. Along with milk, its diet should include porridge, khichdi, seasonal fruits, and their juices.

Fruits should be consumed according to the season, such as during the current summer season. During the summer season, one can find a variety of juicy and delicious fruits like mangoes, grapes, lychees, watermelons, muskmelons, cucumbers, etc. Mango, the king of fruits, also arrives during the summer season. Mangoes are used in various ways. Raw mangoes are used to make chutney with green chilies, which tastes delicious. Raw mangoes are boiled or roasted, and their pulp is extracted. Mixing roasted cumin, salt, both white and black, and a little black pepper into the pulp creates a tangy sauce (juice) of mango, which is very tasty. Mango juice is given to protect from the heat of summer. Both sour and sweet varieties of mangoes are used to make vegetables, called khatia because raw mangoes are cooling in nature and play a special role in protecting against the heat.

Mango pickles are made. As mangoes ripen, they are gradually eaten, and ripe and delicious mangoes are soaked in water for a while and then eaten with pleasure. There are many varieties of mangoes, but everyone loves the Dussehri mango.

Not only mangoes, but in summers, cucumbers and cucumbers are also available, which are used to make delicious salads. The taste of watermelon is enjoyed. Watermelon should be soaked in water for an hour or two during the day to cool it down. Then it should be cut and enjoyed according to taste. Watermelon has a sweet taste. Watermelon seeds should be soaked in water for two days and then rubbed and separated from the pulp. The seeds should be dried in the sun, peeled, and separated. These seeds are nutritious. In this way, watermelon should also be kept in the cool and when it is cold, it should be cut, salted according to taste, and eaten. The pulp of watermelon is red in color. It tastes juicy and delicious. Along with this, watermelon provides ample cooling. People eat the pulp of watermelon and throw away the seeds, but the seeds have more nutritious properties than the pulp. People buy these seeds from the market and eat them.

As soon as one hears the names of grapes and lychees, sweetness spreads in the mouth, and a sense of coolness begins to be felt. Grapes are available abundantly during the summer days.
