Although the food business is crowded with people who have come from a line that is starkly different and have done relatively well, I did not quite expect Sagar Suri of CnM (Chunmun) to leave me gobsmacked with the Sushi Burger of his ‘cloud kitchen’ named Yang & Yum. The Sushi Burger made headlines back in 2016—it is said to have been created by a vegan Instagrammer named Sam Kristine Burger and just went viral – and like all fads, it disappeared from menus (the sushi burger was even served at Guppy by ai) as fast it showed up. Yang & Yum of course has more to offer than the Sushi Burger. I was particularly impressed by its sushi and dim sum selection; my better half plumped for the chicken kung pao. Sagar Suri has done well to indulge his entrepreneurial fancies outside the world of mass fashion.
