On February 12, Kataria was chosen to succeed Professor Jagdish Mukhi as Governor of Assam. Gulab Chand Kataria, the recently appointed governor of Assam, is expected to take the oath of office on February 22. Kataria, a senior BJP official and the opposition’s leader in the Rajasthan Assembly, will now serve as governor.

“I shall fulfil the constitutional obligation given to me by Prime Minister Modi and our party in such a way that I will live up to the expectations of the high command and the Prime Minister,” Kataria said in a media interview.

“Even before this, whatever responsibility was given to me by the Bharatiya Janata Party, I have done the job of fulfilling it very well,” he added. Politician Gulab Chand Kataria belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The BJP leader, who is 79 years old, was first chosen as an MLA in 1977 and then again in 1980. Since 1993, he has won every election for the assembly, and he has held the office of House member eight times. Kataria served as the Home Minister of Rajasthan from 2004 to 2008 and from 2014 to 2018. Between 1993 to 1998, Gulaab Chand Katariya was the ministry of Bhero Singh Shekhawat’s minister of education. His district of representation is Udaipur.

He is a prominent BJP leader and a member of the central working committee. On February 22, Kataria will replace Prof. Jagdish Mukti as governor of Assam.
