The year 2020 made headlines bringing the whole world to a halt. Among other sectors, films and theatres also came to a standstill. Very few films braved the last weeks of 2020, with most still opting for the OTT release route. It’s not the time though for 2021 and with it, Bollywood is ready for a comeback with a huge slate of movies with Bollywood’s biggest stars ready for release. Here’s looking ahead at what’s coming for viewers in the new year.

1.Laal Singh Chadda: 

The audience will see Aamir Khan in a completely different avatar and is the official adaptation of Hollywood mega-hit Forrest Gump.

2. Radhe:

 

It is Salman Khan’s next release which will see him opposite Disha Patani and is being directed by Prabhudeva. Radhe is one of the most anticipated films of 2021 and had created an immense buzz with the announcement video alone. Radhe is also the name of Salman’s character in Wanted and it is one of the most loved characters of Salman’s fans as well as for the actor. The film was supposed to release on Eid 2020 but got postponed due to the pandemic. Trade analysts now assume that the movie may release on Eid 2021.

3. 83: 

It is the story of India’s first Cricket World Cup victory in the year 1983. With Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil Dev and Kabir Khan helming the project, 83 is probably one of the biggest films based on real events. The movie was set to release in 2020 but due to the pandemic, it was moved to 2021. The date is yet to be announced but the excitement around the movie seems to be ever-increasing.

4. Bachchan Pandey:

 Sajid Nadiadwala, Akshay Kumar, and Farhad Samji will be reuniting after Housefull 4. The first look of the film was released sometime back which had Akshay in a completely different avatar donning a Dhoti.

5. Rashmi Rocket:

Taapsee Pannu plays the role of an athlete. The film is being produced by RSVP and is directed by Akarsh Khurana who last directed Irrfan Khan’s Karwaan. The film is being shot at the picturesque locations of Kutch. Tapsee Pannu has been training for the movie for more than a year now and her dedication is commendable.

6. Toofan: 

Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra are reuniting for a sports drama film after the massive hit biopic on Milkha Singh – Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. For Toofan, Farhan will be seen as an aspiring boxer and has made a massive physical transformation for the role.

7. Tejas:

The shoot of this air force film started in December. Tejas is the story of a daring and fierce fighter pilot, played by Kangana Ranaut. The Indian Air Force was the first of the country’s defence forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016. The film takes inspiration from this landmark event.

8. Phone Bhoot:

The film will have a very interesting pairing of Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ishaan Khatter. Phone Bhoot will be directed by Mirzapur fame Gurmeet Singh and is a situational comedy. The shooting has begun and the film is expected to release in 2021.

9. Badhaai Do:

 It is the second film in the Badhaai Ho franchisee from Junglee Films. Like its predecessor, this will be a family comedy with an interesting plot.

10. Anek:

 Ayushmann Khuranna will be reuniting with Article 15 director Anubhav Sinha in his next outing. This will be Anubhav Sinha’s next film after the critically acclaimed Thappad.
