The Telangana High Court in the case observed and has passed the slew of directions to the Courts and Police Officials concerned in furtherance of the Suo Motu proceedings initiated that were taken up by the court in order to the ensure speedy disposal of cases with regards to MLAs and MPs. The court in the case observed and has directed the Registrar of the Telangana High Court for filing a report showing the number of pending cases which are against MLAs and MPs within the State. The Senior Counsel Vidya Sagar appearing on behalf of the Registrar General presented the report before the Division Bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti. Therefore, the court observed that the statistics have also been uploaded on the official website of the Telangana High Court and it can be found at the bottom of the home page. It has been shown in the data that there were 115 cases which are pending against various Government representatives throughout the State. The bench passed the following directions to ensure the speedy disposal: 1.The court directed the CBI Courts to dispose of the pending discharge petitions filed before it within 2 months. 2.The Investigating officers were directed to issue summons within the period of 2 months in cases that were pending summons. 3.The court noted that 10 cases had been stayed by a bench of the High Court, and all special benches were requested to dispose of miscellaneous petitions which includes vacate state petitions. 4.When the summons was served and the accused had not served appearance, the concerned Courts were directed to take appropriate action in coordination with the Police to ensure appearance. 5.In cases that were pending at the pre – cognizance stage the police were directed to take appropriate steps and the Magistrates have been directed to number chargesheets expeditiously once objections are being complied with. The counsel, Senior Advocate Vidya Sagar was directed to submit compliance report on the next date of hearing which was set after the period of 3 months.
