There is only one month left in the upcoming T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan. Prior to this, India has to play three-match T20 series against Australia and South Africa, which will begin in the next few days. In such a situation, both these series are important for India because after these two series, India will be playing first T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. In this sense Indian team will get an opportunity to test the players who have been included in the World Cup team.
India’s T20 World Cup squad is very strong but there are many players in the team who need to work on their weakness. In this list the first player is Suryakumar Yadav who certainly plays well in bilateral series but till now he hasn’t been able to perform well in any important event be it last year’s T20 World Cup or recently played Asia Cup. In both these occasions Suryakumar Yadav has not been able to deliver for which he is known.
Apart from this, Rishabh Pant is also a good batsman but he has to play in T20 format in the way he plays in Test cricket. However, team management also has a big role in this because Rishabh Pant does not get selected in the playing XI of T20 team with consistency. If the team shows confidence in him even in T20 format, it is possible that Pant will be able to bat fearlessly besides when Pant is in rhythm, he can dominate any bowler.
However, it is a very good sign for the Indian team that before the World Cup, Virat Kohli has returned to form, and the way Virat scored runs in Asia Cup with consistency, the whole country is expecting that he will score runs with the same rhythm in the T20 World Cup and at present Virat also has the opportunity to score runs against Australia and South Africa and improve his form further before the World Cup and being a senior player he himself would like to improve his form in both these upcoming series.
