On this National Teachers’ Day, President Droupadi Murmu honored 75 educators from all over the nation by presenting them with the National Teachers’ Award. The award ceremony took place in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, according to the minister of education. Each award comes with a silver medal, a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and a certificate of merit. According to the statement, the recipients would also have a chance to speak with the prime minister.

Department of School Education and Literacy of Ministry of Education has been organising a National level function on Teachers Day every year to confer the National Awards to the best teachers in the country, selected through a rigorous, transparent selection process.
From this year, the ambit of the National Teachers’ Award has been expanded to include teachers of the Department of Higher Education and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, it added.
50 school teachers, 13 teachers from higher education and 12 teachers from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be awarded this year.

The nation observes National Teachers’ Day on September 5, the anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth. The National Teachers’ Award honors educators who, through their commitment and dedication, have enhanced not only the quality of education but also the lives of their students. Its goal is to recognize the unique contributions of educators in the nation. To increase participation, nominations were sought online for innovative teaching, research, community outreach, and novelty of work (Jan Bhagidari).
