According to authorities, a mob murdered a 19-year-old youngster on Sunday in Vektianvilai in Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli district.
According to the police, the victim has been named as K Muthaiya, a 19-year-old inhabitant of Thisayanvilai in Tirunelveli district. The victim’s parents have claimed that their son’s death was an honour killing committed by his lover’s family from a dominant group.
The casualty was the cobbler’s son. According to authorities, the victim was working at a wedding card shop when he fell in love with a coworker of a different caste. They further stated that a case had been filed in this regard.
A top official told ANI that “an investigation has been conducted in this regard and it has been confirmed that there is no honour killing and so far we have arrested 2 persons in this case.”
