On Thursday, Nayab Singh Saini took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Haryana, marking the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) return to power for a historic third term in the state. The swearing-in ceremony also saw several new ministers inducted into Saini’s Cabinet, with key leaders from diverse backgrounds.
Anil Vij, who has served as Haryana’s Home Minister, was sworn in as a Cabinet minister alongside Saini. Vij, a seven-time MLA, secured his victory from the Ambala Cantt constituency, continuing his influential role in state politics.
Shruti Chaudhary, the MLA from Tosham and daughter of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kiran Chaudhary, was inducted into the Saini Cabinet. Shruti, who is the granddaughter of former Haryana Chief Minister Banshi Lal, will bring her family’s political legacy to the table as a new minister.
Krishan Lal Panwar, the MLA from Israna, took oath as a minister in Saini’s Cabinet. Panwar, who previously served as the Transport and Housing Minister in the Khattar government and as a Rajya Sabha MP from 2020 to 2024, is expected to play a significant role in the new government.
Rao Narbir Singh and Other Key Ministers Inducted
Rao Narbir Singh, MLA from Badshahpur, was among the ministers sworn in. Mahipal Dhandha, a Jat leader and MLA from Panipat Rural, was also inducted, bringing representation for the Jat community.
Vipul Goel, the MLA from Faridabad, took oath as a Cabinet minister, strengthening BJP’s presence in the urban region. Additionally, Arvind Kumar Sharma, the MLA from Gohana and a prominent Brahmin leader, joined the Cabinet. Despite his loss in the Lok Sabha election against Deepender Singh Hooda, Sharma’s inclusion signals the BJP’s continued efforts to balance caste representation.
Shyam Singh Rana, MLA from Radaur, took oath as a minister, representing the Rajput community. Rana’s induction comes as recognition of the Rajput community’s strong support for the BJP in Haryana.
Ranbir Singh Gangwa, a two-time MLA and former deputy speaker in the Haryana Assembly, was also sworn in. Gangwa, who hails from the OBC community, which constitutes about 40% of Haryana’s population, is expected to bring strong OBC representation to the government.
Arti Singh Rao, daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh and MLA from Ateli, took oath as a minister, representing the Ahir community. BJP’s Palwal MLA Gaurav Gautam, another Brahmin leader, was also sworn in.
Rajesh Nagar Gurjar, MLA from Tigaon, took oath as a junior minister with independent charge, marking his entry into the Haryana government as part of the new leadership team.
The new Cabinet reflects a careful balancing of regional and community representation, aiming to strengthen BJP’s support base across Haryana as the party embarks on its third consecutive term in power.
