Suvendu Adhikari has gained special importance in the party since he joined the BJP. He got the post of Leader of Opposition as MLA of Nandigram. And this time in his successive meetings with the Central government leaders, that importance is becoming more apparent in the political circles. His successive meetings with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have shown that the central leadership is still active in Bengal despite its defeat. He also held meetings with several central leaders on Tuesday and Wednesday. The most important of these was his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister and the opposition leader of Bengal spoke for about 45 minutes. After the meeting, Suvendu posted a picture on social media and said that some issues were highlighted in the meeting.

After meeting Narendra Modi on Wednesday morning, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also had a meeting with Suvendu. Later, Suvendu posted a picture of the meeting with PM Modi on Facebook and said that he was blessed to meet the Prime Minister. “The political situation and development have been discussed for 45 minutes,” he wrote.

It is clear from Suvendu’s remarks after the meeting that the law and order situation in the state was the main topic of discussion with Central government leaders. According to him, “When the state does not abide by the constitution and the law, whatever can be done politically and legally will be done.” According to sources, Suvendu also demanded the implementation of Section 356 in Bengal.

He assured that all possible steps would be taken to bring to justice to the incidents of rape and indecency in the post-poll violence. Suvendu also said that he would discuss the matter with Soumitra Khan and Arjun Singh. After that Suvendu, along with three MPs, met Amit Shah.
