Several celebrities have come forward in support of detailed investigation in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and Sharad Malhotra is one of them. The case is being investigated by the CBI. The late actor’s case can’t be “brushed under the carpet”, asserted Sharad. Seeking justice for Sushant’s family he said, “I want them to get closure. We all want to know what happened to the person who was so full of life. This can’t be brushed under the carpet, the nation needs answers.” The late actor’s case has attracted a lot of theories and until the Supreme Court granted a CBI investigation in the case, very few people from the industry stood up for him. The Naagin 5 actor said that as a fraternity it was crushing to see only a handful of celebrities standing up for him. “It was very disturbing and saddening to see that very few people spoke about justice for Sushant. Even I did not want to say anything about SSR but when someone asked me, I freely expressed my thoughts and emotions about him. So, I agree that initially, people did not want to comment but when asked they should have been vocal about it since we need to know what exactly happened. Also, if you are standing up for him now, it should be with good intention and not with some hidden motive.”

Soon after Sushant›s death, it was being said that depression led the actor to take his life. Sharad has dealt with depression himself and shared that it is not something that happens overnight. “It’s very easy to pass judgment, or a remark, that he was suffering from depression, it’s easier said than done. Only Sushant knew what he went through. And we need to understand that depression doesn’t happen overnight, it’s like a series of events which kind of accumulates and there›s a reaction. Until we know what exactly happened to him let›s not say anything wrong about him,” he said before signing off.
