The apex court is set to hear the plea, regarding the removal of Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister on Monday. The matter is to be heard by Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta.

This move comes around the time, when Kejriwal has just been released on interim bail, following which he held his first meeting with AAP MLAs yesterday and later, unveiled 10 guarantees for the Lok Sabha election.

Earlier on April 10, 2024, the Delhi High Court dismissed a third petition which sought the removal of Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister due to his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an excise policy case.

In response, it pulled up the former cabinet minister Sandeep Kumar for this matter and declared that the court cannot not be involved in “political thicket”.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED for the money laundering case in Delhi’s liquor policy case on March 21st, 2024.

Later, just days before the fourth phase of election, Supreme court granted him interim bail to Kejriwal till June 1st.
