The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the name of Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi and Justice Rahul Bharti for the appointment as the two Additional Judges as permanent Judges of the = Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium bench comprising of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice BR Gavai Gavai has recommended the appointment of two Additional Judges as permanent Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh

Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi
The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi followed by the Collegium of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on August 21, 2023.

The Supreme Court Collegium while following the established procedures, consulted judges well-versed in the affairs of the High Court and assessed the quality of Justice Rahul Bharti’s judgments, which were deemed ‘good’ and ‘fairly reasonable’ by the evaluating Committee.

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi’s after the Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court proposed her appointment as a permanent Judge on November 18, 2023. Thus, the Committee of two judges of the Supreme court had rated the quality of her judgments as ‘good’ and ‘reasonably well written.’

The Supreme Court Collegium bench after scrutinizing and evaluating the material placed o n record for both nominees expressed its considered view that both Ms Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi and Shri Justice Rahul Bharti were eminently suitable for appointment as permanent Judges of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
